This pricing calculator is designed to help 3D printing sellers estimate a fair suggested price using the actual details of a print job. It combines material usage, printer run cost, labor, packaging, selling fees, and profit margin into one clean price recommendation.
Each filament line calculates cost from the price per kilogram and the grams used. If a project uses multiple colors or material types, each one is calculated separately and then added together.
The printer run cost accounts for the machine being tied up during the print. This can represent electricity, machine wear, maintenance, and the opportunity cost of using the printer for that job.
Labor covers hands-on work such as preparing the file, loading filament, removing supports, cleaning the print, sanding, assembly, quality checks, and preparing the item for the customer.
Packaging includes boxes, bags, labels, tape, padding, inserts, or other supplies used to safely prepare the order. This is entered as a direct cost because packaging needs can vary by project.
The base production cost is the amount required to make the item before adding platform fees or profit. This is the core cost of the project.
If you sell on a marketplace, the calculator can account for a percentage-based selling fee. This helps prevent the fee from quietly reducing your profit after the sale.
The profit margin is added after the production cost so the suggested price includes room for business profit, reinvestment, mistakes, future equipment, and growth.
The final suggested price is calculated from your production costs, selling fee, and profit margin. The calculator can also round the result to a cleaner retail-style price, depending on your selected rounding option.
This tool gives a pricing estimate, not a guarantee of market demand. If the suggested price is higher than customers are willing to pay, that usually means the print may need to be redesigned, printed faster, made with less material, produced in batches, or positioned as a premium/custom item.
The 3D Print Pricing Calculator is a free tool that works out exactly what a 3D print costs and what you should charge for it. Enter your filament price, print time, printer power draw, and labor, and it calculates material cost, electricity, machine wear, and your profit margin — then gives you a clean, customer-ready price. It's built for hobbyists selling prints, Etsy sellers, and small print farms who want to stop guessing and price with confidence.
The calculator is free to use with no sign-up. A free account adds cloud saving for projects and filament profiles, and optional Pro plans add more storage, longer history, live printer monitoring, and Etsy, Bambu Lab, and OctoPrint integrations.
Add up your material cost, electricity, printer wear and maintenance, and post-processing or labor time, then add a profit margin — commonly 30–100% — plus any marketplace fees. This calculator does all of that automatically and gives you a customer-ready price.
Material cost = grams used × (spool price ÷ spool weight in grams). Then add electricity (printer watts × print hours × your kWh rate), a share of machine wear and maintenance, and your labor. The calculator combines these into a single per-print cost.
Yes. The calculator is completely free and needs no sign-up. An optional free account adds cloud saving; paid Pro plans add more storage, longer history, and integrations.
Yes. Your printer's power draw, your electricity rate, and annual maintenance all feed into the run cost, so the suggested price reflects real operating costs — not just filament.
Yes. It accounts for marketplace fees and profit margins so your listed price stays profitable. Pro plans can connect to Etsy, Bambu Lab, and OctoPrint to pull orders and print data.
Any printer. It's filament- and machine-agnostic — you set your printer's power draw and material, so it works for Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality Ender, Elegoo, Anycubic, and more.
